The Holland Film Group is pleased to provide through an online portal this educational material at no cost to teachers for use in classroom settings. The entire film or eight separate sections of the film can be applied to a variety of classroom topics.

“Wilderness to World Class – The Story of Holland, Michigan” was produced with the supervision of leading historians and educators. A primary goal of the project was to provide area teachers and students a tool to better understand both the past and present of the community of Holland.

The film in whole or in part provides learning opportunities related to topics such as utilizing natural resources, working together for the common good, innovation and entrepreneurship, philanthropy, the role of faith in community, and strength built on diversity. The complimentary curriculum guide includes key vocabulary terms, important quotations, and questions for student exploration.
